What Is This Workbook?
Between What Was and What Will Be is Volume II of The Storm Series · For Her, written for the woman who has moved beyond the most acute stage of betrayal and has made a decision, at least for now, to remain in the relationship. But deciding to stay is not the same as knowing how to stay.
Across 12 modules and five phases, the workbook explores trust repair, triggers, forgiveness, co-regulation, intimacy, setbacks, what you need to see from your partner, protecting your own progress, and the woman you are becoming through the process.
The Long Middle
Once the emergency quiets, a more complicated phase can begin. You may see genuine effort from your partner and still feel hurt. You may experience closeness one day and activation the next. You may have decided to stay and still wonder what that decision means.
Volume II makes room for that ambivalence without treating it as failure. The work helps you examine what repaired trust actually requires, what belongs to your own regulation, what accountability needs to look like in the relationship, and how to remain connected without losing yourself.
How Does the Workbook Work?
The workbook builds on the stabilization work from Volume I while moving more directly into relational rebuilding. Through psychoeducation, structured reflection, somatic regulation, Wise-Mind decision-making, and exercises related to trust, intimacy, boundaries, co-regulation, and post-traumatic growth, you begin examining not only what happened to you but what you are choosing now.
It is not built around forcing forgiveness or convincing you that staying was the correct decision. It is designed to help you see your present reality more clearly.
What Does the Process Look Like?
12 modules · 5 phases
- Locate Yourself: Begin with where you actually are now, including uncertainty, ambivalence, and the needs that may have changed since the acute crisis.
- Examine Trust: Look at evidence, accountability, triggers, and what rebuilt trust requires in daily life.
- Rebuild Connection: Explore co-regulation, intimacy, boundaries, and closeness without abandoning your own pace or reality.
- Navigate Setbacks: Understand difficult days and renewed activation without assuming that every setback erases all progress.
- Become: Consider the woman you are becoming and how to protect your progress as the relationship continues to change.
The emphasis is not on returning to the marriage you had before. It is on understanding what rebuilding requires now.
